Yesterday morning, I took 2 fish oil capsules, 2 Calcuim+D, and a women's multi. Last night, I started feeling very very sick to my stomach. I didn't eat very much all day, which I know may have contributed. My new doctor said that supplements wouldn't make a person feel sick, but I'm thinking that she's really young, and I've heard otherwise...Anyone know?

Doctors are not God's. They don't always have the answer. Of course taking many vitamins on an empty or near empty stomach can make you feel sick. It has happened to me.

Several of the vitamins I take say on the label to eat them with a meal because they may cause an upset stomach. The higher the dose you take, the more likely to upset. Plus, everyone is different, some people just have sensitive stomachs--anything, including vitamin supplements can make you sick.

Often times you will feel sick after taking any type of vitamin if you take them on an empty stomach. If you cannot eat while taking them I would suggest drinking a glass of milk.

yes, supliments can make you feel sick - especially if you are not eating properly. Always ensure you are taking your multivitamin with some sort of food source. a fruit, some yogurt and a bran muffin will do.
