all of you were _so_ helpful we gave him a mixture of Apple juice and the hand feeding formula and he's strating to move a bit and he's warmer. You were all so thoughtful and helpful. Thank you!

Get him warm. Second, call all of the vets in the area and explain your situation. They may know something you can do for him or know of someone who can help you.
If you add your city and state to your message we can help you find a vet.
It seems that the closest avian vet is three hours away. Here is there listing, maybe they can help you over the phone.
Frankenmuth-Birch Run Veterinary Hospital
Kimberlee Buck
9339 S. Gera Rd.
Birch Run, MI 48415
Phone: 517 652-6689
Fax: 517 652-4797
Or maybe they would do a consult with a vet in your area. Good luck!

You might want to also try putting a heating pad under about half of his cage (the heating pad should be set on the lowest setting possible). When he gets cold, he can go to the warm part, and if he starts to get too warm, he can still get away from the heat on the other side of the cage.
Good luck.

I hope my answer isn't too late. Being cold is a very bad sign and usually means the end is near.
I would warm towels in the dryer and cuddle him. If you can coax him to eat, a sugar water mix, or gatorade if you can get it, will give him quick energy (do you use a syringe for handfeeding? You'll need one for the gatorade). Feed the liquid at the same temperature you would use for the formula, about 108 degrees. Be careful, as it is easy for birds to aspirate liquids.
I hope this helps; good luck!

Definitely keep him on a heating pad.(Not too hot) Like on warm. Yes you do need to force the formula, he may not want it because he is (maybe) sick, so yes force him to eat it, it's actually a life or death situation right now.
So yes keep him maybe in an enclosed padded basket, and on a heating pad.
Best wishes:)

There is not a lot you can do. Keep it warm and you can try holding it and feeding it with a dropper or a spoon.
If it wont eat dont force it , you can choke him if you do it wrong.
A heating pad under a nice towel may work. A hot water bottle wrapped in a towel is also good.

Baby Formula!!!! Should you be hand feeding him??? how long have you had him!!! How old is he??? Take it to the vet NOW!!!!
How old!!! What do you mean baby formula!!! Only baby formula for birds is hand feeding formula and if that is what you are waiting for him to eat he wont!!! You have to hand feed him!!
I would get him on the heating pad and also hand feed him!!! Hopefully with having a special needs bird you know how to do this!!!

I am so sorry to hear the baby is sick. When they are so young like that, it is really hard to help them. I would try and force feed him some. He must eat. I would make sure he is warm. I would not force him to do any thing else. He will need to take it easy to get better. Good Luck to you.

One way to get him to drink is to place a drop of fluid at the tip of his beak in the grrove between the two parts so it flows back to the corner of his mouth and in. Once he gets a taste, he may eat. If not, at least this way you can get fluids into him, although not much. You need a vet.

Since you don't have a vet that handles birds, maybe you could call a local pet store and see if they can help.

I think I would take him to a vet straight away. It might be something simple and easily cured, but it may not be.
