you are sent a statement when you owe money. If you have a credit you are never notified. I changed dentist then two years later went back, come to find out I had $125.00 credit. Why do they do this?

Sometimes greed, sometimes lazyness. No good reason.

Probably to save paper?
If you ask them they will tell you that it was 'in your contract' someplace (page 154 subsection 54 a, ii)

So dont even waste your time bytching that them, they dont give a rats azz!

Why would they call you and remind you?
They are trying to make money. If you have that credit they can make money off of that too. sure your $125.00 is not a big deal but imagine if 5k people forget this amount for a year.
The interest on that would pay a few xmas bonuses!

This is just my guess!
Nice to see that you did finally get the money however.

That's not true. Someitmes they actually send you checks. I overpaid $20 on my final phone bill and got a check from them. I Overpaid a doctor and they sent me a check too.

Your dentist just has crappy accounting.
