I've worked as a scrub or circulator in OR in a number of institutions, and the walls were light green, or light blue, or a flat white - one was even a pale yellow. We decided we didn't like that one and so had the walls repainted a very light blue.

it is opposite in the color wheel from red, which they see a lot of when they're doing surgery, so when they look up from the body the after-image of the bloody organs is neutralized by the green walls or scrubs of the other doctors/nurses.

its a soothing color. it makes you feel warm when ur cold and cools u down when your hot
