The only thing I didn't like about the XD was the grip was a little short. With the extended magazine it weighs a little more but feels much better in my hand. It shoots great with no feed or extraction problems. It's a great carry gun too. Light and small but accurate.

I own an XD .40. It's a little weighty (when compared to my HK USP 9mm), but it fires pretty accurately. I used to have a SW40VE...that was a piece of inaccurate crap.
Springfield XD's are good for the price. I've run into at least one other owner who loves his.

Its not a bad gun.. It's just the lack of parts available that keep me from owning any XD..Why not look at some of the smaller Glocks? They're reliable as hell and parts are easy to find.
And no a 9mm will not blow your arm off..LOL

It sounds like a nice weapon, at least according to the commercial magazine evaluators and editors who are paid under the table(and usually given free guns to boot). According to independent evaluators, it's right up there with Glock and better than a S&W Sigma, but comes in a far second to the flawless H-K USP.
