If he was a full time student, then yes. Otherwise, you can't.

No you can't claim him, so can't claim head of household.

He's not your qualifying child even if he was a full-time student - he would have to be under 24, and he isn't, so he's too old.

The other kind of dependent is a qualifying relative. Since he made over $3300, he doesn't meet the requirements there either.

No, now that he is 24 you can only claim him as a dependent if he has less than $3,300 in gross income. His income is higher than that, so you cannot claim him. Since you cannot claim him as a dependent, you cannot claim HoH any more.

unfortunately not. your son is not "qualified child" since he was not under age 24 and also made over $3,300. you would file single. your son would file his own tax return and claim himself.

I believe you have had to make $8,100 in order to file for income taxes so I believe you can still claim head of household.

heck yeah! as long as you supported him you can claim him. it isn't like you're living with him and he took care of you or he has a place of his own. just make sure you have this understanding with him. I think, but may be incorrect, that it is illegal for you to claim him then him to turn around and claim indepenancy. You can always look online at the different federal and state tax laws, and your local laws most-likely will be posted unless you live somewhere that's classified as the outback.

Yeah and tell him to get a better job while you're at it! Unless he was going to school or unable to work or something.
