The tow truck company lost car after an accident.I had an accident back in april 06 went to claim car a few months later. was told to pay 6000 in towing and storage fees. When i went back to claim it they couldnt find the car. It was not picked up by insurance company. What can be done?

Sounds like they sold it at a lien sale and they took you for $6000.
You can try to sue them, but you'll have to answer this question: why'd you wait a "few months" to pick up your car? Sounds irresponsible to me.

they created a bailment when they towed it,you can sue them for it ,the truth is they probably disposed of the car.and you have the right to be reimbursed for all the personal items in the car..get a lawyer

Those rotten bastards? I would SUE them for sure. I had an experience with a tow company last year, bunch of low-life, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing drug abusers.
