The pheasant tail nymph (PT Nymph) is a generic, "jack-of-all-trades" sort of nymph. It is typically tied using 3 or 4 pheasant tail fibers, which are tied in at the bend of the hook. The remainder of the fibers are wound forward to the eye of the hook and then trimmed. Weight can be added either with an underbody of wire or with a bead attached prior to tying the fly.

It is a kind of fly used in fly fishing. It is brown in color, made from the fibers of a pheasant tail feather. Usually tied on a 2X normal nymph hook, with tungsten or similar weight attached directly to the hook before tying.
It is a general all purpose nymph, but I haven't had much success with it......

it is a kind of fly..........it is used for fly fishing to catch trout mainly.i guess it can be used for panfish also.it isa also used for steelhead.
