Is it me or has the tide turned?
I've been house trained by several older girlfriends who took the time to teach me what they're looking for in a man, and by a long term relationship that ended in a disastrous loss of meaningful communication.
Now I find that the women I'm around are not looking for commitment yet and they're in their mid-late twenties.
In their bid for equality, have women begun to surpass men? Has a "Down with love" sex-à-la-carte generation been born? Or do I have to hang around other 26 year olds?

Just give it time, almost all women are like that right up until they feel their biological clock ticking, and then they are on the war path to settle down and have a family. Maybe in this day and age that time has just moved back a couple of years and you won't find women who want to settle down until their early thirties. I am in my early twenties and I know I am in no big hurry to get married or have kids and all that jazz... there is a lot of stuff I want to do in my life before I commit to that. I am not saying I NEVER want to do it, but not for at least another 10 years or so.
Good question, and nice reference to "Down with Love" it's a good movie!

For the first time since polls about this sort of thing have been conducted, 51% if women in the USA are single. I think the tide has turned. The more educated the woman, and if she has a good job, she's going to be pretty picky about choosing a life partner. Many of these same women you refer to have it all... a good job, town house, and freedom to do what ever they want. They realize they don't need a man to take care of them . I believe there are many women who want a stable guy and a family, but there aren't as many as there once were.

Well speaking on experience it all depends on where ya look at the girls personality to be exact. I mean some women dont want to settle down, and they prefer to take advantage of their age and sleep around and explore other people.
Other women like ones who have been sheltered or brought up a certain way especially religious women want nothing but a longterm relationship and wont sleep with you for a while.
I say just give it your best shot till you turn 30 and if you get nothing just join a church haha.

I would say yes, to that question. Commitment is a bad word for some people. Some would say, who wants to commit to somebody, when someday the right person may come along. I am in my 40's and am ready to commit to somebody, but can't find the right one. My standards are very high and I know that a perfect man won't appear, beacuse there are no perfect people. We all have flaws. Sex should be with a person that you love and not given freely like it is today. It is for two people that are married to share with each other. That is commitment to me. Love and commitment go hand in hand.

Seems to me they all want a guy who wants to commit...what am I missing here? I'm sure not ALL women think alike or want the same thing. You're just hanging out in a place where the chicks are looking for what they want and the hell with what you need. Trust me, there are women who'd do anything for a nice guy who's willing to be honest, faithful and true to only them. They probably just think you're too good to be true and don't trust you. I had that problem and finally gave up.

Same goes for men.Not all women are ready for a comitment. Just like all men are not ready for a comitment. It scares the hell out of them. Some men are just looking for a piece of @#$, just like some women. It all depends on where your looking. Good luck:)

I wasnt ready for a real relationship until my late 20s. I didnt want to be married until now... I am 32.

Opposites attract. So if you're ready, chances are the women you're attracting are not.
You shouldn't have to hold back any part of yourself for relationships, but if you're ready, you may benefit from not displaying this immediately.

no, all you have to do is look well, and be sure before going down on your knees. So, all you have to do is wait for awhile when ur in a relationship and just hope she wnts to marry you

Some women are, and others aren't. It really depends on the girl. Try dating different types of girls.
