my mom is punishing me for making fun of my little sister getting her period, she told me since i think its so funny maybe i can walk in her shoes for awhile, so she marched me to the store held my hand and bought me a package of these little girly frilly panties, and pads and tampons, and made me go to the register and buy them, she said i will use them just like my sister so i can realize how hard it is? can she do this is this fair? what am i gonna do with tampons it must be a joke right?

Well, your sister has feelings too. She may have been feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable about her situation. Your mom probably is trying to get you to understand and respect your sister. Ask yourself if you would have stopped or thought about it if she never took you to the store. Maybe your mom thought extremes were necessary. A wise saying goes, Don't pass judgment( or make fun)of someone else, until you've walked in their shoes. That was probably her point. I feel bad for you that you were humiliated, but maybe your sister was too when you teased her. Beware of your actions if you don't want to face the consequences. Your mom probably wants you to learn this lesson sooner than later on in life, so you have a good life and can be proud of yourself. She loves you and your sister or she wouldn't have taken the time to show you this lesson.

I think her punishment is over the top, but what you did was also really insensitive. If you want to have a girlfriend or wife someday you'll have to be able to act maturely about these things. You'll probably even have to go buy pads or tampons for them, and you shouldn't be embarassed about it.
Yeah, you can't wear the tampons, and even wearing pads won't really make you understand what it's like, because wearing the pad isn't the hard part, it's the pain that goes with it.
I think you should apologize sincerely to your mom and your sister and point out that you will never really be able to experience what it's like to have a period but you will make an effort to be more sensitive in the future.

I cant believe you would make fun of your sister like that starting your period is a VERY sensitive ishue not because it is embarising but because it causes women pain. i think it is more then resonable. I would have called you friends and had them meet us at the store so they could make you feel more uncomfterable about it. its hard on a girl when they start their period. you need to be more sensative

No it looks good on you, you shouldn't tease people, especially your sister, and you said that its your little sister, wow she should be teasing you, at least shes becoming a woman before you. Its not nice to tease, and just think of the day your period comes, maybe she will get back at you and tell the whole school, now wouldn't that be embarrasing.

I wouldn't even know where to start on this one...
Maybe to start, I would make you wear only a SMALL towel and make you go stand outside. That would only be a small sample of what your sis is going thru. There would be SO MANY weeks of "girl" sympathy training for you, you would start to act like one.
