is there really nothing out there to get rid of them??!!
i've tried it all...pads, creams, rubbing alcohol. clearisil, neutrogena etc. needles and tweezers to pick it out (i kno it sounds bad..) i've even asked my mom to see a dermatologist, but she wont take me to one, so basically that option is out. you name it, i've tried it.
im currently using proactiv, but i've been using it for a long while now annnnnd nothing. the only time it remotely works is when i use it day and night, every single day, without missing once.
im busy! i dont have alot of time in the mornings, and im completely exhausted by bedtime, and i miss washing my face sometimes..
UGHHH ive had this problem since around 5th grade (in 9th now) and im getting completely fed up.
im just wondering if this is all a lost cause..and if theres ANYTHING that i can do!!!!

i've tried the biore strips..they kinda worked, but there were only nose ones..do they have them for the chin? also, they only got out the small, almost unnoticable blackheads...

The problem is probably that the oils that cause them are below the skin, not on the surface where you are cleaning them and squeezing them. I was using a cream called Renova and then Retin-A and they helped a lot. I was also on medication at your age to help control acne, but I wouldn't do it again, I have had health problems ever since taking it (tetracycline). Of all the things I tried, just plain Oxy cream at night and once during the day, like at lunch time seemed to keep things under control. You have to get a doctor to write the prescription for the Retin-A, otherwise I would tell you to get that --- also, it's really expensive, about $75, but it worked for me. A skin doctor is probably your best best. Don't believe anyone who says it is related to your diet, I have always eaten healthy food with no fried food and almost no chocolate or sweets, it made no difference. A lot of it can be hereditary, being born with oily skin, or just going through the teen phase where most people get bad acne -- but it's gone by the end of high school normally. It wasn't with me, I still have occasional problems, but the Retin-A keeps it under control. I never tried Proactiv, because everyone I asked said it did NOT work for them.

I had blackheads and used a really great acne product. But it didn't take away from the blackheads. I then decided to use a nose strip. Deep cleaning ones. You just put it over your nose and it sticks and you wait a certain amount of time and then peel it off. I think you do it every three days. It really helped me, when I couldn't see a dermatologist. I don't use an expensive name brand either. I use a simple, cheaper version of it. Goodluck and let me know if it works. amaya_rivensall@yahoo.com

Wow, I guess I am the only one here to say Apple Cider Vinegar cures acne!
I recently got a painful sore throat and I mean painful. I found this website and followed instructions using apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper and wow it worked! I was so impressed I looked at many cures, including acne. I have included the link below with many testimonials on how it cured their acne. Take a chance, you have nothing to loose and many of these people say exactly what you said, they have tried everything and nothing worked until they tried this very simple and inexpensive remedy. I hope you will benefit greatly from this site as I have. Good luck!

Well,
I don't mean to be rude but, if you are so worried about it...you need to make time for cleaning your face.
Every morning when you wake up...
Use a pore clearing astringent.
When you are almost ready for bed...
Use the astringent and a face wash...preferably one with microbeads.
If it burns...it means it's working deap down. So don't be afraid to get all the dirt out. Overnight is when all the blackheads and pimples pop out. So night time cleansing is essential for clearer skin.
Good luck.
I hope this helped.

it might be the makeup you're using. try bare minerals. it's really light powder that covers really well. and talk to your mom again about the dermatologist. if she's willing to pay all this money for proactiv and creams that don't work, why not take you to see a professional that can help? it'll make you happy and more confident in yourself and all moms want that for there kids. but don't demand anything, just state the $ facts and you side, say please and thank you, and you might get your wish.

When I was a teenager(many years ago ) I tried Clinque 3 step program - It really worked. HOwever I did have to use it everyday. Its expecially important to wash your face at night so you don't sleep in all that makeup.

A dermatologist is you only hope. Tell your mother to get it together! If you don't control it young, it might get worse and lead to scarring (although your particular acne is not likely to).

Your regular doctor can prescribe you somehting, so you dont have to see a dermotologist. At your next checkup, bring it up, mine put me on two creams (Differin and Duac) and they've worked really well for me. Just mention it next time.
