I REALLY don't want to restore my computer just because I downloaded the software!

Working with a company that did 80% virus and spyware removals for customers at roughly $160 a pop, I can honestly say that most of the PTP sharing networks like Kazaa, Limewire, and Bearshare lead the way to infestations on your computer.

While these programs may not inherantly load your computer up with bad stuff, there are security flaws in them that are exploited. Virus and spyware makers take advantage of these known "holes", and create programs that go right through your protection software and load all sorts of nasty stuff on your computer.

Do yourself a favor...don't load it.

LimeWire itself isn't really harmful, it just seriously increases your chances of downloading a virus or bug onto your computer. It's hard to download safe files from LimeWire, also if you are worried about FEDs don't use this software, use a bittorrent site, they are much safer and easier, I think.

My Dear Friend,

First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.

Better to use Bit-torrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.

Take care of your computer more...It will take care of you in coming days.

Expecting Success...Always.

Limewire does no longer harm your workstation - if you're having subject matters with speed you may close down limewire and in elementary words use it once you've something to get carry of. With those form of programmes you may get carry of and in case you go away your shared track document human beings can upload from you to boot - this eats up bandwidth and may want to reason your comp to slowdown, its no longer volatile although only stressful. If that's no longer it then its very accessible you're contaminated with secret agent/spyware.

limewire is not really the problem, it's the files that people upload to it that have viruses, trojans etc . if you do use limewire then scan EVERYTHING you download and NEVER repeat NEVER download EXE files from the site.
a much cleaner option is to use SHAREAZA, much cleaner and safer but maybe a bit slower. also limewire (and other p2p sites) is considered SPYWARE as it gives access to your files for sharing.

While the program itself is not malicious, it does open the door for other cyber creeps to infect or infest your computer. This is the biggest problem with file sharing, you may download virus', trojans etc. Also many freeware programs come bundled with other programs that are installed on your computer, mostly without your permission or knowledge. They are mostly harmless but may actually track your internet use and send that info to another computer which compiles the usage of thousands of people to help companies determine where to buy internet ads.

Yeah it does. Not really with songs, but it is possible. Now, software is what you want to stay away from. Thats where the viruses lurk. Just stick to music. I had to learn the $300 computer fix way.
Peace
