It can work, i met a my current girlfriend, and the woman i am gonna be with the rest of my life, in a yahoo chat room. We've been together for almost a year 4 months now, and no i am not some youngster lol Nor am i old enough to be old fasion i guess. lol Everybody says how you dont know if the person is a perv. or a creepy nutjob... and they are right, you dont. But in truth you really dont know any better then when you meet someone at a club or a bar or wherever you meet people. The only thing you can tell for sure and for certain when you first meet someone that you cant when you meet them online is what they look like. A perv or pysco is going to lie and do what they can to get you where they want you just as much in a bar as they would in a chat room... the differnce is in a chat room you are in your home and all you have to do is turn off your computer. You can look in the news on any given day and see that it isnt always that easy at a bar or club.
If a person is smart enough to follow certain rules then meeting someone online can be a safe way to do someone. The hard part is following the rules... i admit that, i havent always been able to do so myself. But that is a mute point, the point is the dangers are just as bad if not more so in a bar or club or park or wherever.

Call me old fashion, but...what do you mean by internet dating? Is this where you just have cyber and never meet the other person? Or is this about getting to meet someone you've chatted with online? Either way I think is okay. If you're just having cyber, what could be safer. If you know the person from an online relationship, and hopefully you've checked them out, I don't see anything wrong with finally meeting someone that you feel comfortable with...in a public place with someone you know close by, that is.

I tried internet dating for a while, just to see who i could met. I met some great people and at the same time met some weirdos as well... i never found the love of my life but i found some really great friends...
If you do decide to try remember safety first.

no, I hate it.
It never works out in the end. Just meeting each other, and seeing each other, and its kinda sketchy as far as this guy could be like 60 instead of the 16 year old he said he was.
Creeepy.

I dunno, ive seen the same people on yahoo singles for over a year. I doubt their much of a catch and more then likely crazy, but im sure every once in a while someone comes on there thats just to busy in their life to go out and find someone.
