Yes, a lot of antidepressants have this side effect. I don't know about other meds. I've been taking them for a few years now and all the ones I've tried have had this effect. I guess it depends on what you are taking it for and if you are willing to sacrifice some sexual feelings for what the medication does for you.

I did. At the time I started taking it, I didn't really notice it. However, after being in a relationship I realized that the feeling isn't always there (which is kind of hard to convey to your lover that it's not them but it really is you!). Eventually, I went in for med management and the doctor asked about that side effect. After thinking about it I responded that I was feeling that and that a part of me felt that it was hurting romantic relationships. He started me on another med that is wonderful and I've got my libido back. I never realized how much I missed it. ;-)

Man to hear about all the strange things I see homosexuality being compared to *sigh* .... You had performance anxiety which doesn't make you any less straight or any less 'of a man.' You need to simply meet somebody you feel comfortable around and then see what goes from there. Being gay isn't a lack of something. It IS something. And you didn't mention any attraction to guys in your post. Does your 'low libido' get high with men and not women? Then yes, you're probably gay. But....I don't see the gay here? Being gay is being gay it's not a lack of being straight!

Lots of people have this problem but they get it taken care of by reporting it to their doctor so the doc can either adjust the medication or change the medication.
