Since he is only 11 weeks, I would try soft toys since he still has baby teeth, like these toys:

or if you're looking for bone-type toys I would suggest:

( i just bought something like that for my new puppy since shes in the chewing stage, and now she doesnt chew on things shes not suppost to.)

Also, just go to Petsmart (or whatever pet store near you) and look around. If you have questions ask a sales person. Bring your puppy too! They can really suggest some fantastic toys for your puppy and whats good/not good for him.

Good Luck!

You know, I've been thinking about your question for a little while now and have read the responses the others have given. The best advice I can give you is to call your vet. Tell him/her the breed and age of your dog and ask him/her what would be best for your dog to chew on. The vet will be a lot more knowledgeable about the development of your dog at his age and will be adept at giving you the proper information.
I am not trying to put down the other people who have answered - I feel their intentions were well meant but, to me, asking a vet your question seems to be the best way to go.
The only other "tidbit" I can offer - if you want a toy in which your dog can chew and the two of you can play tug-of-war, tie up an old sock in a big knot. I've seen several dogs love this.
Hope I helped. Good luck!!

Bully sticks are good (natural) You do have to watch out when the dog chews down to the end, though. Dogs shouldn't swallow chunks of these. Merrick distributes all kinds of gross-to-humans, but-lovely-for-dogs chewies, there are boxes of these in many pet stores. I also will fill a Kong with wet food + kibble, freeze that, and then give that as dinner when I leave the house, in my pup's crate. Other great interactive treat-dispensing toys are : busy buddy (shaped like a UFO) an Amaze-a-Ball, a Molecuball, and a Buster Cube.

Most dogs love chewing on and playing with ice. If you have a floor that you don't mind the ice meling on, freeze some ice for him and let him play with it. You may also freeze the peanut butter in the Kong so it doesn't get eaten up so quickly.

Rawhide bones are a favorite but they also pose a choking risk. Otherwise, I reccomend investing in some puppy specific rubber chew toys from Petco. Dental chews are also good.

Try getting medium sized Nylabones, chocolate and other flavors but not the cornstarch bones. He can chew on them to exercise his gums and teeth but without swallowing chunks that could cause problems. When the ends are worn down throw them away. He may not pay much attention to them at first since he is used to the pigs ears and kong treats, but with time he will start chewing on them. Then you can give the Kong just occasionally.
Another thing some dogs love are those hooves but they really do stink so I saved those for a tiled area or outdoors.
The bad thing about rawhides and pigs ears is they are often bacteria laden and some rawhides use formaldehyde for preserving and hardening, especially the compressed ones. My Vet doesn't like rawhides because dogs will often chew off and swallow big chunks and then get sick from it.
Another thing to give on occasion is Denta Stix and you can get thes large hard biscuits which exercise their teeth and gums but if a larger chunk is swallowed it will dissolve.

Perfectly normal puppy behaviour. I'd be more worried if he didn't play-bite. Just be patient and keep training him and you should be fine. Redirecting his biting onto a toy is good, letting out a yelp, breaking off all contact and ignoring him completely when he bites is also good. Puppies are not known for their self-control and all puppies are different, some will learn not to play-bite within 14 days, for others it can take months - usually they will stop completely once their adult teeth start coming in at 4-6 months old.

Pig ears and raw hide bones can very easily get swallowed in to big of pieces and get lodged in the throat. I would avoid these. My dog lives to ice cubes, and rope bones. These are the 2 things she chews on. Otherwise you can try one of the soft denta-bones or something like they that would break apart easier as the dogs chews on it. This way you would not have to worry about obstruction. If a dog swallows to big a piece of raw hide, surgery is required. I recently fostered a dog who had to have this done. Also, when it starts teething you maye want to wet an old rag, ring it out, tie it in a know, and freeze it. This is a soothing thing for dogs, and is safe for them. Obviously make sure they dont EAT the washrag. As it gets less frozen you will want to take it away.

A raw meaty bone you can buy at the grocery store makes a healthy dinner, and keeps his teeth white. Don't cook it though, because A) dogs digestive systems can handle raw meat and B) cooked bones splinter. I have an eleven year old who has teeth who don't look a day over three because of this. I never brush his teeth, either. Good luck!

Take some puppy food and baby food and mix it up and stuff the Kong as much as you can. Keeps the stinker busy for hours. Most shelters do this all the time. And yeah it's very good for them. You can also try freezing the stuffed Kong as well.

His size chew toys from petsmart, small pig ears, if ever he chews on your stuff, take it tell him NO firm but not yelling.... Replace it with a small bone or pig ear.
