I've was dating a guy for a year and last weekend we broke up because he doesn't want to be in a relationship right now. He says he still loves me, but doesn't want to drag me along while he figures out whatever it is he needs to. He's the most amazing guy I've ever met. Everything was great until a month ago. Can any guy enlighten me to this? Is this just a cop-out? I need an impartial point of view.

A guy who truly loves and is into you.. wants it with you. It doesn't matter what is going on in his life... you will be his one thing he can depend on. It makes no sense, unless he doesn't want you anymore for whatever reason. Life is always easier if you are sharing the difficulties with someone else. A man who says' I love you, but is willing to let you go... no longer loves you. I know it sucks... but it's the truth. No man, if he really loves a woman wants to take the chance her being and/or sleeping with anyone else. A guy is always ready for a relationship if it's with the right person. A dog, can be leashed if he finds the right dog master. Seriously.. I would cut your loses. If you decide, to persue this avenue, you are looking to be hurt more than you are now. Let him go.. he isn't that amazing if he doesn't love you back.

He sounds like a nice guy. It's better he was honest and broke up with you now then drag you along for the next 3 years. Leave him alone give him space. Do Not Call. I don't know if you will get back together but, if you call him you will have much less of a chance then if you leave him alone. The flowers were a good sign, you need to keep yourself occupied. If he calls don't answer the phone let him leave a message and then call him back the next day. Or say your on your way out with a girlfriend and will call him back. Don't be rude but he needs to know that when he calls you are not going to be there unless you are dating.

even thought u love him, don,t waist your time if he,s not seriouse about having a relationship with u.why not try to make him jelouse?sometimes this act of seeing u with someone else can be a wake up call for him,and react.donnot let him use u or drag u along if he wants no future relationship with u.perhaps as it may hurt letting go may be better now that u know how he feels.wish u lots luck.

the whole "doesnt want to drag you down with him" thing is a ploy to make you feel better about your breakup and not make him out to be a jacka$$. its an old technique used by men to get out of relationships. its up to you what to do in this point in time. in this absence yall are having, i'd go meet some other guys and just enjoy life. life is alot funner when you have variety. i wish you goodluck in your relationships none the less : ) God bless : )

You cannot force a man to be with you. The best thing that you can do right now is give him space and time, but also move on with your life. It won't be easy, but if you two are meant to be, you will be. Have faith and believe that things will turn out how they are supposed to. Good Luck!

I am a girl and it seems to me like a cop out, having said that leave it for a while and he may realise what a mistake he has made and come running back to you (if you have him of course)

You can't force someone to be with you. Get over it already. Move on, if he doesn't want you right now then so be it. I am so tired of these same questions from lame people that have no self esteem and can't move on.
