They are both going to be suspended for multiple weeks just like Chad Knaus was last year. Well thats what you get for cheating right? Any comments! Is it fair or unfair?

I'd like to see how many teams try to get away with cheating when suspension of the drivers becomes a risk. No one particularly cares about the crew chiefs. The drivers are what make the sport as popular as it is. But Brian France is terrified of lower ratings and lower ticket sales so they'll stop short of suspending the drivers until it gets worse, when crew chief suspension and fines by NASCAR become obsolete; they are already. Even though chances are the drivers are not to blame, I just couldn't see the crew chiefs risking their drivers' jobs behind the wheel.

Honestly, if "my" drivers were forced to sit out a race or two, I'd still watch. In fact, I might be more inclined to watch to see whoever drives their machines for them to see how they do. Betcha France hasn't taken that into consideration.

I think that Nascar somtimes is real stupid with the things they do.Cheating is cheating but like the driver knew any of these things go on? Its the people that werk on the car that actually knwo these things..not so much the driver.Like Kasey or Matt actually knew about this? Even if they do what r they gonna be able to go with little holes..cover them up right? OK they did and still got in trouble..what the hell..I dont get that,I didnt even know this was going on and Im a BIG Kasey Fan.Gotta read up on it more but ya thats what I feel..

I don't agree with cheating. It's wrong. This was a first time deal and unlike Knaus and Johnson how many times had they been busted only to get no penalties before last year. According to fox sports RCR cheated last year by doing the same thing Kenseth did at Daytona and was never penalized. Imagine that a bowtie that cheats and doesn't get nailed for it. Once again nascar plays favorites.

Its just how the rules of the sport work if you break the rules you're going to have to suffer the consequences and then race even harder to make up the lost points and then you'll move on. Its fair to the other drivers because they broke the rules yet its kind of unfair as all the teams want an advantage on the track.

If anyone gets suspended, it has to be the crew chiefs. They know what changes are made to the car, and unless some Kasey/Kenseth hater snuck in and messed around with the cars, which probably did not happen.
So I think this is fair, but unfortunately it's not that strong.
And as much as sending teams home is probably the right thing to do, it just seems hard to do(the sponsors will hate it)

I thank it is too harsh to fit the crime. Just goes to show how one sided nascar has become.
To all the little E fans how about yanking his dumb a s s right out of the race when he spun himself on purpose to bring out a caution a few years back. Then admits it on the radio. Yes he got docked 25 points after finishing good but why not yank him right then and their and place him dead last? He would have lost a hell of alot more points had nascar stuck by the rules. Anyone that says the nascar officials are fair are complete idiots!!!

It's very fair but I really think it should go further and the cars not be allowed to compete in the race. No one cares about the crew chief and the owner picked up the fines but let the fans see their driver on the sidelines and see if teams don't clean up

With the "cheating" epidemic it is time they suspend the driver.Sure the crew cheif is in charge of the car but if the driver is the suspended one his fans will be PO'd and this would only happen a time or 2 then it would stop.

every team in the cup series pushes the envelope(cheats).just some get caught and some dont.eventually they will all get caught one of these days.
yes i think the punishment is due.
the question is mikey waltrips teamgot caught doing something also.not sure what it was,but they had their cars impounded.now if it was something illegal they should be punished also

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- What started as an agonizing inspection process for Michael Waltrip on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway turned dramatic following his Daytona 500 qualifying run, as NASCAR confiscated his car and a second intake manifold from it.

Doesn't matter. They will probably still finish in the top 10 in Daytona after it's all said and done. NASCAR always likes to flex it's muscles for the 1st race of the year to set a tone for the season.
Kasey Kahne isn't a cheater, it all goes back to Ray since all of his teams got caught for something. Ray should have Erin Crocker be Kasey's crew cheif since he lets her have free range to do whatever she wants in that organization.
