theres this kid in my social studies class i call him "dew" as a code name. (inside joke). anyway, i sit at his table and we when talk he always looks me in the eye and smiles and hes so sweet to me . the negative side is, i never talk to him outside of class, and he used to ( i dont know if he still does) like my best friend. and i like him?

This is typical. Does your best friend like him, or even know he exists? Has he ever told your best friend he likes her?
Then you have to decide if you want to go for it or not... Tell him or not.... It's your choice and the longer you wait, the less likely anything will happen between you two exists, but since you are still young, it could be that later on he will notice you still...

Oh, he looked you in the eyes, he doesn't mind a nickname, he likes you. I almost never look girls strait in the eyes if i don't like them. If your good friends, ask him if you want to do something together (some school activity, anything else would be... akward.)

if you have a sn (aim) or something ask him for his if you do not have it and talk to him on there and then like just start to bring it up and ask him if he likes you the same way.
