My friend says that lately her male cats are getting rather close, and that Tom is always holding Oliver's neck down and the other end doing a similar sort of thing, does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

maybe hes just confused about his sexuality..no i'm kidding.. i dont think they can be gay, like someone else said, a tom cat will try to do anything that moves.

I have one cat who does this also. I think it has to do with when they were fixed. Like spraying, if they are fixed later than reccomended the behavior may already be present. They may be holding them down but they are NOT actually doing anything. Make sure to fix cats as 6 months to avoid things like this. Mine was a stary who I found at 1 yr of age so he was fixed late. The other cats do not do this (they are all male).

ok, i'm the friend he is talking about, and he failed to tell u guys that Thomas, gets on Tom of Oliver, like, in an almost sexual lookin way, and bites his neck...it's weird...and they're brothers...thing is, it's never the other way around. today was the weirdest, cuz it looked like he was making...um...weird motions w/ his lower regions, but he's fixed, so nothing was happening...iono...it's been going on for a while, but i've seen him do it more in the last week than ever b4.

Yes, animals can be gay. There are even male penguins that choose male partners and stuff. I read somewhere that they will even adopt an egg together or something.
It may be that the cats are just playing, or trying to exert dominance over one another. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes. Without exposure to other cats, just like prisoners and rats, they'll either turn gay or eat eachother. It's the nature of beasts.
It could just be one cat showing the other who's boss. I doubt they will actually make nookie.

They could be like a dog because one of our dogs are doing the same thing to another male one because our female one makes him back off.

They're probably just playing. My cats (mix of males and females) do the same thing all the time when they're playing.

no, cats will even groom each other, the neck thing is a doninance thing, males just form a bond, kinda like our best buddies

well i think that everything is possible. they probly frends but maybe the reason why they they do the thing is because well they might have a fredship thing going on or they really are gay! you never know any thing is possible!
