My friend has 3 boxers and hers do not shed as much as you would think. It all depends on the weather though. I have two jr's that shed in the summer, but I have 3 bichons that hardly shed, but shed during the winter.

Dogs shed. Period. Even 'non shedding' breeds. they have to replace their hair somehow. non-shedding breeds like poodles will shed less but neither the boxer nor the dane qualify. if you have an issue with hair, i'd say, get a goldfish. The only way you can really deal with having a dog is to be at peace with the hair.

This is a link to the dogs that shed the LEAST. Boxers shed a lot. The hair is just shorter and you don't notice it. I only know this because we recently fostered one and oh boy did he shed!
If you want a dog that REALLY doesn't shed much, you may have to go with a hairless dog such as a Chinese crested. They have some hair on their heads but none on their bodies for the most part. Otherwise, poodles or Carin terriers are good choices. All dogs SHED somewhat.

I don't believe Dr. Pearce is even a real Dr.!
The word is MOLT. Not MALT.
And yes, humans shed hair. Old hair falls out and is replaced by new hair. If this wouldn't be the case then every time we brushed our hair eventually we would turn bald!
To answer the original question. Yes, all dogs shed fur unfortunately. Certain breeds shed more than others. You can search on websites, such as the one I attached, that tells you what kind of grooming maintenance each breed needs.
Good luck.

I have a Great Dane that is shedding right now. The rest of the year is very minimal but right now it is quite a lot. There are quite a few dogs that don't shed. Poodles and schnauzers are a couple of examples.

I'm sure that all dogs will shed at some point in time, but if you want to get one, get a short haired dog. I don't think that you will ever get away from the shedding...

Yes, danes and boxers are big time shedders. The dogs that dont shed have longer coat types. Bichons, poodles, shih tzus. They have more of a hair than a fur, that needs to be combed and groomed more often.

all dogs shed. but poodles, bichons, maltese, shih tzu, lhasa, almost any dog that needs a regular hair cut, doesn't hardly shed at all, bucause their hair grows much much longer before it dies and falls out. so any dog that has naturally short hair, like boxer, great dane, lab, golden retriever, husky, greyhound etc. is going to shed. some, much more than others. sounds like you're looking for a manly type of dog for yourself. well, good luck with that.
there is the Mexican Hairless, but not a very attractive dog.

All dogs shed, but there are some breeds that shed more than others. If you do some research and talk to some good breeders, you can get some good ideas of what to expect.
