I know this person who is really a close family member and if I mention I have a headache she will call me an hour later and have the worst headache ever, if I had a cold she will have it a day later but a million times worse, she is apparently in menopause, but it has gotten to the point where if I got my period she will have hers too(with the worst cramps) what is with that??

Faking illness for attention or sympathy is a psychological disease called Munchausen's syndrome. It usually stems from a childhood experience of a close family member's illness that took attention away from the sufferer. Later, the person wants to get attention from others, and so fakes illnesses.
