Because the dumber of the priests and other godbots idiotically believe in the "number of the beast". They're so uptight about it, they forced the renaming of a highway.

In the US, the interstate highways have a two digit number, the most famous of these being "Route 66". The standard procedure for nameing branches of the interstates is to add a third digit to the end, hence there are regional highways 660, 661, 662, and of course, 666.

if you want to know more about "666" - turn on TBN on your TV and watch for a program called "Bible Prophecy Revealed" starring Grant Jeffrey. Its easily the most moronic TV show ever created (worse than TRL and Flava of Love). This guy talks about the dumbest things - he oftens speaks of the "anti-christ" and the "false prophet" apparently 2 different bad guys that will have to fight Jesus at the end of the world (imagine this would be more popular a sporting event than the Superbowl) - anyways, these 2 bad guys come out (they are living on this earth right now pretending to be normal citizens) - and they try to blow up the world, instead, Jesus rises and kicks their asses (like the giant robot from Power Rangers) and the world still ends!

We dont run away from it, why should I be scared of a few numbers.....if you mean that it is a representation or has a connection with the Devil, well yes, some Christian run away from it, but I however, have no need to.

With Jesus at my side I have nothing to be afraid of, especialy not the devil...or his numbers. ;- )
