Question for you: Do you think your religious leaders would endorse your use of the internet as a preaching forum? I was raised a JW, my sis is a regular pioneer and I don't really see her doing all this online preaching - especially consdering the exposure to those pesky appostates. I'm just curious about your thoughts - not Bible quotes, or hate comments.

PS: I'm not a Jehovah's Witness anymore. I say this as a disclaimer for them. As the religion of many of my loved ones, I would hate for my behavior to be a poor reflection upon their religion. I would do the same if they were Jewish, LDS, etc...

Hi. Thank you for the well worded, POLITE question. I currently am on disability. I am on the net allot to, among other things, sell items on eBay and various other sites. When I first saw Y!A I used it to find info on the various items I sell and buy. To ask questions, you must answer some, so I went to categories I know about. One day for a Larf I typed in Jehovah. Boy was I surprised at how many questions, and often WAY off answers, there were. Since I know about my beliefs, I answer questions about them. I try to be a Witness to others in actions and speech, anywhere, whether online or in the real world. Sure sometimes I stumble, but I try to get back up. I simply answer the questions asked. I try to tailor my answer to the specific question. There is little 2 way communication.
I do appretiate your concern. We must all, whether Witness or not, and, whether on line or not, be careful of who we associate with.

Is not one of the teachings of the JW's if it doesn't bother a person's concience you should not judge them?
I thought I heard them say that, in regards to certain things like the internet and contact with apostates and such, one should be cautious
Yet I when I looked at all the ridiculous lies from the apostates, I LMAO. (not a JW here btw)
When one compares the simplicity of what the JW's teach to all the confusing mucky muck of the apostates and all the members of christendon , it is at the same moment laughable and sad.
Laughable because the lies they tell about the JW's are so easily overthrown with a Strong's, Concordance.
Sad, because you know the world will be a better place with the non-violent Jw's as the earth's only inhabitants.

Few if any Jehovah's Witnesses use the internet as a preaching forum. The Scriptures quite plainly recommend that preaching be performed person-to-person, house-to-house, door-to-door. As the best examples of true Christianity, Jehovah's Witnesses certainly have proven themselves to tireless perform such personal ministry around the globe.
Nearly SEVEN MILLION Jehovah's Witnesses participate in preaching each month! Nothing can replace personal interaction, as Jesus, the apostles, and the first century congregation well-established.
It would seem that some Witnesses see their time on Yahoo Answers and similar websites merely as a hobby, or perhaps as an interesting way to select topics for personal study. As this question mentions, these websites are hardly the place for a Christian to find 'good association', and so Christians should be encouraged to look for association in their local congregations.
(Hebrews 10:24,25) And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.

First of all, we don’t have religious leaders. Secondly, if we can’t find you at HOME and find you on the internet asking questions….then why not take advantage of preaching to you over the internet? We just don’t waste valuable time. If we get a chance to preach in any way, we do. Of course, we are being cautious as well. However, I do thank you for your concern for us.

Ex JW here, and current apostate. I don't think the Governing Body would approve of it.
Do they get to count time for it?
