no ,they need to avoid severe hypoxia and an early spleenectomy in infancy may help although autospleenectomy happens due to many repeated infarctions,its a tough one not much medical can help in,the repeated infarctions r so painful and can result in loss of fingers toes and pain killers prescribed regularily ,many types some mild some severe no diet is helpful
