strong willed two year old, who really likes to not listen to me, I have no patience today as my head feels like it is going to explode. I have no one who can watch him either, I am getting irritated with him as well.
I cant go anywhere cause I dont drive, so going to the docs is not gonna happen.
My son is bored as well, and I have a migraine so my energy is low as hell.
What should I do???

Try putting in a movie for him and a big bag of ice on your head.

Ice frequently helps my migraines!

Good Luck!

Call someone to help....nieghbor, hotline, whatever....if it truly gets to be more than you can handle.

Turn on the TV! This is one of the best times for TV, honestly.

If you get a lot of migraines, you should talk to your doctor for a prescription that might help. Also, try keeping a "stash" of new toys in your closet. Bring out a new toy when one of these migraines comes on and hopefully the novelty will be enough during some of your worst moments to keep his attention and occupy him for a little while at least.

Good luck!

i have the same situation, but fortunately my daughter seems to understand when I have a migraine that its going to be a stay in bed and watch movies with snacks kinda day. If she has trouble with it at that point her step dad comes home from work to watch her and let me sleep it off. He can work from home just as well as from his office as he is a computer programmer. I do understand how you fell and i hope you feel better soon.

Back in August I had a migraine that lasted for a month consistently, I was in and out of the hospital, throwing up constantly, my sense of smell was screwed up, cereal smelled like dirty cat litter, and for a period of two days I could not speak. I know in my mind what i wanted to say, but it came out in gibberish when i opened my mouth. I had lumbar punctures and MRI's the whole works. My daughter watched TV throughout the whole thing, except when stepdad came home to take care of her. I did not feel bad, because it was either that or I was going to throw my self in front of the garbage mans truck and kill myself to get rid of my pain. I think this may be why she is so understanding of it all now. Don;t feel bad, migraines can be crippling and you need to know that a few days of TV entertainment is not going to harm your child.

I have a similar situation, as I do not drive either. When I need a 'break' from my 3 year old, I put her in the bathtub and let her play. I will grab just one Tylenol and a book and sit on the floor next to the tub. She enjoys her time in the tub and I can take a breather for a little bit. Or if your 2 year old will sit still long enough, try putting on a movie that he likes and lay down with him; that way you both can calm down. Good Luck.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

If you can wait until tonight, take Tylenol PM. The only way I can get rid of a migraine is to knock myself out. So take some once he is asleep.

i use to have these headaches because of a bad car accident, my headaches wouldn't go away my doctor showed my a way to get rid of them without no pills.
He said between your thumb and first finger of your hand press the skin in between till you feel a ball ( sometimes big other times small) anyway press on this ball till it hurts put pressure on it than release pressure slowly to the count of 10 , do the same with the other hand it' took my head aches away. good luck

If you are desperate for a break give him some children's Benadryl. But do not use this method as a normal course of action.

But if you're migrane-sick...and you can't take it anymore along with a tough toddler, you've got to take care of yourself and be safe.

If no one is around to help you and your body is just gving out and you're at the end of your mental and emotional rope, a long Benadryl nap certainly won't hurt the child and will give you time to get back into a safe state.
