Everytime I let my 2 puppies out they want to eat all the dry leaves and little pieces of tree bark they can find. Is that ok? They just love to run in the grass but I find myself running after them constantly pulling this stuff out of there mouths.

When my dog was a puppy and did this it made her sick. She doesn't do it anymore.

I put a link below with things that will harm dogs. I would suggets not letting them eat grass or leavs simply because you cannot control what other animals or insects have been in your yard. It is possible your dog could pick up worms or any number of other things by doing this. If you keep their area raked and cleaned up they will probably find something else to do outdoors. Provide toys to keep them occupied, or spend time playing with them, throwing a toy or bone for them to fetch and chew on. As they get older then dont normally care mush about these things, but you want to stop the behavior now or you may have real trouble when they get older. http://www.twodogpress.com/healthy.html

I wouldn't let them eat the leaves or the bark. Now if they are eating grass that is ok but not leaves. Break them of this habit as quickly as possible, tell them no in a firm voice.

LOL my puppy does this too. I'm not sure if it is safe or not, but usually if I leave her be, she won't actually eat the leaves, tree, etc..., but just chew on it for a while and then spit it out. And so far she's been fine. So maybe once you can just wait and watch your puppies to see if they spit it out too.
