they think its trying to be a one-world government, which will trigger the coming of the antichrist. I can't understand why they aren't excited about the coming of the antichrist so they can all go to heaven.

I don't know, but I've seen some evangelical Christian literature that was rabidly anti-UN. I'm a Catholic, so I'm not fully sure about the motives behind the anti-UN thing, but I'd imagine it's because the Fundamentalists who were around when the UN was forming saw it as a giant step toward "one world government" and interpreted the whole thing as a sign of the "End Times". You should hear some of them talking about the European Union now (it's paving the way for the Antichrist, and all that). Also, many Fundamentalists support Israel 100% and dislike any UN attempts at curtailing Israel's actions. And UN-related conspiracy theories abound.

The U.N. is a joke started in hopes that nothing like what happened in world war II never happens again. America,England, and Russia were the only real powers there and still are today,China is the only other world power today, but giving every country one vote, big or small does nothing to promote world peace. They are nothing more than a political persuasion to steal money and give a lot of people jobs and start or control wars. I am sure they will play a part in the New World Order

I am what most people would call a fundie Christian, and I have always appreciated the UN. So I can't really answer that, but maybe some people do think that it is a one-world government that will trigger the antichrist like someone else said. I just don't know.

people that understand the united states and how it was formed and why ... see the united nations as a threat to the sovereignty of our constitution ...already most national parks have UN jurisdiction in the US ... and the thought of UN troops being used to quell a rebellion in the US is frighteneing because thats what the basic idea was in the beggining ... to have the people of the US able to put down the govt if they disagreed with it ... anyway ... its not a "fundy" idea to disagree with the united nations ...

I do not understand why you say fundamentalist Christians hate the UN! I am one, have been for ages, I never ever heard such a thing! Hate is a word rarely used by true Christians. They may dislike an action taken by the UN, but not hate the UN.

Uh, they are a corrupt, money-grubbing organization that can't do anything right? Every military expidition that they have headed has gone horribly wrong, resuling in the death and suffering of countless soldiers and civilians? They hate the United States? They condone Iran's military and nuclear programs? They pacify North Korea? Kofi Anan was a corupt and evil man? Pick one.

Because the UN does not like Israel, and the Fundies do support Israel in a sense. Why do you think the US vetos every resolution passed on Israel.

BTW Do your research on AIPAC, they send billions in foreign aid to Israel......

It reminds them of a verse in Revelations that talks about the beginning of the tribulation when nations band together and make peace with Israel.
