I guess the real question would be can you live with yourself if the lab director's scientific dishonesty caused people to die or suffer from the dishonesty. If you are a moral person, which I think you are or you wouldn't be asking this question, you need to do the right thing in reporting it. I don't know what health environment/company you work for, but if you take your proof to the proper health officials or even the media, some action will be taken. Please remember though that you could lose you job and maybe be involved in a lawsuit. Having said that, how high are your morals? Can you honestly live with yourself the rest of your life knowing and having the proof that you do? The ball is in your court.

I'd be getting another job --asap . Right after you've covered your a**. This guy will try to put the onus on someone else.

Try your local newspaper. Some reporter may be interested in writing up a piece, and maybe keep you anonymous.
