I have planned all week to go tonight and pick up the rest of my wife's Vaentine's Day gift, but I'm laid up with the stomach flu. I already have something for her, but not everything I wanted to get. Should I brave the elements and go shopping or will she understand. I really feel super-rotten.

I have found out that some of the girls on here would make any man proud to have them as his partner, and there are some who are so mercenary that I am thankful my wife isn't like them.

I did drag myself out and went to town and finished my shopping. She was thrilled, but said I shouldn't have done it.

If she loves you as much as you seem to love her, she will understand. Be glad that you get to spend time with each other on Valentine's Day. Believe me, that is the best gift, and the most precious.

She should understand, if she loves you. I would!
Put a note in her card or present to advise that Valentine's Day will last for several days, instead of just one. Let her know that she will get a present a day for the next week, or whatever you decide. That should make her happy. Then that will give you time to get her gifts when you feel better.
Stay home, drink liquids and get your strength up for celebrating the REAL reason we have such a holiday each year

It's understandable that you wouldnt want to be out and about when your feeling sick. Is your wife a reasonable and understandable person? if she is than she should be just fine. If she's like me I would insist you stay put until you feel better, so you dont get any sicker. But its also obvious that you want to do so much for his this Vday. Do you know what you want to get her? if so send a friend out to get it. If you dont know exactly what you want to get her, but have some idea, call one of her friends and see if they would be willing to pick up a couple of items that they think she might like, and then you can choose from them. Save the reciepts and you can return the rest. Or if you know someone who does people's shopping as a part time job (like me) call them up, send them with a list of details about what you want or what you think you might like to get your wife. Then choose from what they came up with. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

If you know what you're getting and can pick it up quickly, go for it, but i'm sure your wife would be understanding otherwise. A late gift is better than you being even more ill on Valentine's Day.

super rotten is the flu. Sounds like your wife is real lucky to have a man that cares enough to feel doubly bad!

If it was me i would forgive you and not realy even care if you are as sick as you say you are. I know im a procrastinator and get my hubby gifts at the last minute. Im sure she will be very content to have a late V-Day with you then have lots of presents and you in bed sick.

explain how you feel and tell her the rest of her valentines present is on the way. then when you feel better go get the rest of it. she will totally understand. then when you bring the other stuff to her she will know that you got her what you got her because you care not just because it is a special holiday.

Awe I hope you feel better soon... I am sure she will be 100% understanding....Any illness isn't fun and it happens.....Just give her the one thing you already got her because that may already be more then enough and I am sure she will appreciate it very much.......Get lots of rest & Get Well

Weather can make things worse. If she's all about who you are? She'll understand. Maybe check with Family to come through? I'm sure they'd love to help.

Come on be a tough guy. Do it for her. Just kidding. Hey, you already have something for her so it's not like you are empty handed. She'll understand.
