Everytime I'm driving at night (or very early morning) I get really annoyed by these new bright headlights. They always blind me! The worst thing is that I always have to slow down a lot because i can't really see that much when they go past me. Why can't we all just have the normal ones??? I can see enough with mine.

If they even dazzle pedestrians then they should surely be banned. Don't know it from that point as I'm too lazy to walk :)
And to scared of walking in the dark

OMG, hell yes!! I can't stand it when some knuckle head behind is behind me and his lights are so bright they throw a shadow of my car in front of me!! Makes me want to get out and smash their lights out with a baseball bat!!! Don't the auto makers think about this when they develop newer headlights?!?!?!?!?!

A properly aligned Xenon headlight shouldn't necessarily dazzle as it should point downwards and right itself if on crests of hills. They also provide a safety advantage to the driver....

BUT....

One of the main drawbacks of the 4x4 design is the higher headlights. And many MOT places may not spot the misaligment of bulbs. And the Kevs who try to achieve the Lexarse lights look often get the cheap high intensity halogen bulbs with a blue tint as they are "just as good as Xenons", but are in reality a dazzle-fest.

Therefore - Xenons = one thumb down from me.

They are extremely bright and dangerous for pedestrians, who are dazzled by them, and god help the person driving in front of you.

I think they should come standard with a high/low intensity switch, so that other drivers are not blinded by thim in siutations where they're obviously not needed, soch as well-lit city driving.

Ugh, yes, I hate them! I don't know why they can't be aimed differently so they only light up the road better, maybe? I had a car with those kinds of lights and I feel like I'm annoying to everyone else on the road, too. One tip? Look down to the outside white lines on the edge of the road when one of these cars is coming up to you, it helps you stay on the road and prevents you getting blinded altogether.

I must agree with you on this. Blinding to the extreme. I like the blue tinted headlights on some cars personally

it is just one more reason why the cars being made today are pieces of junk, those lights are not only to bright but they are very expensive also, i remember when you could replace a burned out headlight bulb for around $6.00 and you didn't even have to open the hood to change it, i wish these screwballs that work as designers at the car companys would grow some brains

Everything I've read on them suggests that they produce light which is brighter than average daylight. If someone needs that to drive safely, then they should have their eyes checked rather than install lights which cause other drivers to risk being flare blinded.

carmen I feel sorry for you because I have the same problem you cant see anything when they coming towards you but even more annoying is when they are behind you shining in your rearview mirror because its not for a few seconds but ages sometimes. I think they should be banned.
