I just upgraded from xp sp2 to windows vista and my downloads are really slow, like I started downloading windows live messenger it said download time 5 hrs. Why is this?

New system and there might be some bugs in it...
I never upgrade until they worked all the bugs out...

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because Vista sucks right now and it will for a good few months. Early adopters are like giunea pigs to Microsoft. They expect you to report every bug you find, which there will be many, and then they'll release SP1 in an attempt to fix them all, probably in June. That's why I won't updgrade until at least then.

Vista is very good but sometimes the hardware, drivers on your computer are outdated etc.. so this happens. You can find out which things on your computer need updating by going to the web site below and it will advise you on what vista doesn't recognize.

because it is a new os and is still riddled w/ bugs. Always wait at least a year after a new OS comes out to upgrade to it, let them streamline it first.
