People are not evil...such some are more mired in ignorance than others.
The root of all evil is ignorance.
If people knew better...they would not do what they do.
(and I am not talking about some judgment, punishment, etc. later)

I once heard an evangelist describe the earth as "the last subway stop before hell." Many humans are more vicious and evil than snakes. After all, snakes only act in what they perceive as their own self-interest. Humans can know they are being vicious, and they'll do it anyway.
In my opinion, there are some Christians who are more brave and beautiful and loving than anything else in the Universe. But those types are a tiny minority in a planet full of much flush-away poop. We can't know exactly what hell is, but the truly evil ones will almost certainly beg for immediate release within seconds after their death. But there WILL be no release. I always say of those types, "Get your voice box in shape; you're going to be wailing in agony for many centuries."
The loving children who serve Their Father in Heaven will find a peaceful eternity of love and acceptance. This earth is merely the place where mortals construct the house where they will reside forever. Since earth-life is a tiny pin-prick in time, we can make decisions here that will affect us for centuries. Accepting the love and forgiveness of Jesus, and then TRULY repenting, can turn around your (or my) inevitable failures as a human.

Is that the extent of your knowledge of the Bible. That was still in the earlier part of Genesis. Read on my brother and you will find that all was well until Satan entered the picture (Gen. 3).
That, my friend, is when evil settled over the land. If you will continue to read on, you will find out that the flesh is sin. Meaning, people (humans) are prone to sin and hurt others. The focus should be on your spirit. that's what satan is out to claim. If you have a pure spirit then you are made in God's image. When you get the Holy Spirit you'll find out.
Is that answer enough for you?

Because they choose to be!..Evil...Satan attacks benevolent peoples children seems like more than people that are not benevolent..children,That is how the Lord has allowed me to see through all people is through their actions, moods, If their is of any bad rude or evil they are not of God but of Satan, and that tells me straight up I am dealing with Satan and not God..Greater is He with in me then he who comes at me,Because God is of no evil or wrong doings,And the other answer to your question is, such horrid off springs, it is something to slow us benevolent, people down to drop our faith but if you are truly of God it makes us stronger...It shows us in a seance just how powerful God is...You take a person like this and some day They call out to God and He saves them .And some day you come upon them and they are so full of Gods grace, it makes you think, how great God is, ...it is called Hope, and it is hard to hold love and compassion for our enemy's..but that's what helps the horrid just like it helps us when we see some one change, it builds hope...God bless you and The USA and Israel and All

By creation, man is dual in nature: The spirit and the flesh and blood. The Bible says in Revelation 2:7 that the Garden of Eden was in Paradise. Adam therefore started life in the spiritual. However, he died or was banished. Subsequently, he lived in flesh and blood with Satan. The spirit of man is created for purity of existence in a life with GOD. Now that man is passive in his spirit nature but active in his physical nature, he is suited to live in the world devil rules. 1 John 5:19. In that case, everything devilish is permissible and/or can be expected.
When Jesus comes back, life in flesh and blood will come to an end. Those spirits that are in the suitable state to live with GOD will live eternally in a spiritual world called heaven. Those people whose spirits are not in the suitable condition to live with GOD will be outside. This is HELL.
The only condition for man to live with GOD is that his spirit is led by the Spirit to do the will of GOD. If this happens, your spirit has been born of Spirit. John 3:3-8. In regard to this, 'give your life to Christ' achieves nothing as it is neither in the Bible nor is it part of the teaching of Jesus Christ.
We must not overlook the fact any way that man in flesh and blood has found ways to acquire the spirituality of Satan.

because we are made in his IMAGE not his NATURE. i could paint a picture of myself and someone could say "why wont this painting talk or walk around? its made in the image of its creator! the creator must not be able to talk and walk" and that would make the same amount of sense as some of the answers on here that say "because god is evil" or "god is ugly". the reason we r evil is because since God loved us he didn't want us to be little robots that obeyed everything he said without thinking. he decided to give us free will! and then we fell to temptation and started sinning. and we now have an evil nature. while God's nature is Holy because he has never sinned

Not that this is the cause... but if we assume that the god of the Bible is real and we are in fact made in his image here is your answer.
Because god is evil. Have you never read the Bible? God is a tyrant king, he is admits to creating evil, he is a gambler who gambles with the lives of innocent people, he is guilty of multiple accounts of genocide... god is evil.
Of course in reality that is not the reason, but if according to your question we are to assume that it is, then that is your answer.

Your first mistake was believing the literal interpretation of a 3000 year old book written by goat herders. People are a bunch of selfish blobs of protoplasm crawling around on the fragile and much-abused delicate surface of the earth until they thankfully croak. Every now and then, one of them aspires to be just a little better than the status quo. God's got nothing to do with it.

Its called sin. When the first human did it, it cause a "defect" which has passed to all humans since. The "theological" name for that is "original sin". Simple means that everyone has a part in them that tends towards evil. Fortunately, God has provided a way - through faith in Christ - to get the defect "fixed".

Your judgment is blinding you. There is not an evil soul on this earth. We are all creations of God, who is all Good. There are good souls who do things we perceive as "bad". Because of this they are actually in that moment moving farther away from God. But he put us on this earth to choose and experience. He also creates good out of everything we perceive as "bad".
