a person who claims to have faith that they do not truly feel, or a person who admits to having no faith because they really have none. would a truly just god appreciate the integrity of sticking with one's true feelings, even if those feelings don't foster a belief in said god?

i am asking for opinions about a hypothetical truly just god, not about a specific god associated with a specific religion. i am not asking for tips on developing faith, nor do i wish to be preached to. if you quote scripture as part of your answer, i will report you. answer the question with your own words or don't answer at all.

I would go with the latter. A truly just god would not condemn someone for using the powers of reason given to him.

I also question the justness of a god that gives some people a road to Damascus conversion but expects everyone else to just take it on faith. If we all got one and some chose to disobey/ignore it, then there might be some merit to the argument.

Hrm... It sounds like you want people to tell you that a "truly just god" would rather you not have faith because you don't feel it. Because clearly, a just god would not want someone to lie about what they feel.

I'm not going to tell you that though. Why would a god say, "Oh, this person doesn't believe in me because he doesn't 'feel' it. Good for him!" That's flat out ridiculous. I believe that any god of creation would desire his creation to have faith in him. If an individual doesn't have faith, I think any god would want that individual to wrestle with the question of faith and sincerely seek out answers.

I also think that any god of creation would appreciate you asking the question that you did because you are looking for answers.

By the way, I am a Christian, I do believe in God and the message of Jesus Christ. Hope I didn't come off too preachy. Report away...

Maybe you should ask God how he fells, instead of asking us.

Since you have threatened to report anyone who tries to quote God's words, I will just say that the Christian God admires honesty, and understands honest doubt.

I have a surprise for you. God does not JUDGE. He is Love. He is everything seen and unseen. We humans are the ones who judge. He looks on everyone with the exact same favor. He loves us all UNCONDITIONALLY. None more than another.
