No. Establishing democracy (representational government of/for/by the people) AND capitalism would discourage illegal immigration. How is it that the wealthy, powerful, and free countries of the world are the capitalistic/democratic countries, and the less wealthy, less powerful countries are the socialistic democracies, and the poorest, most corrupt, and weakest countries are the dictatorships, that may be socialistic or have some degree of capitalism, but when people try to figure out what the best form of economy/government is, they never can figure it out???
Look, people vote with their feet, not through political debates. Where do most people move FROM? Where do most people move TO?? More often than not, people move FROM oppression and poverty TO wealth and security. Look at the countries that have the most people moving away--free countries or poor countries? Look where those people are going--to free countries or poor countries?

The only thing that is going to discourage illegal immigration is the following:
1. Stronger enforcement of immigration laws here in the US
2. Making it so no one will rent to or hire illegal immigrants (like fining the hell out of them)
3. Getting the corruption out of their governments
4. More border patrol agents
5. Stiffer penalties for those that illegally immigrate here
6. Make it so they are not able to use any of the "priveleges" afforded those of us that are US Citizens or legally in this country, like schools, public aid, etc.
7. Change the law so that if two illegal immigrants have a child here in the US, the child is NOT a US citizen due to the parents being here illegally
The easier we make it the more they are going to come here. If it is impossible to "live" here as an illegal immigrant, they are not going to be so ready to come here and live/work.

If other countries had it as well as we do, that would discourage illegal immigration here, that's it. If they could get jobs and make a decent living, they wouldn't come here, legal or otherwise.

No. They don't want to work in their countries. They want to come to the US and take jobs away from our citizens and send the money south. It is an economic assault on our country. They are enemy combatants and should be treated as such.
Our country allready has a huge trade deficit because of this type of thinking.
I won't hire them to shovel poop on my farm, much less trust them to put one foot on my land. I give jobs to young people looking for a little income over the summer, not to illegals looking for outlets for their illegal narcotics and some sort of get rich quick scheme.
Keep your drug dealing illegal butts out of our country!!!!!
