down around her edges. I have used gel, glaze, and even greese and water. What product can I use on her hair that won't break it out and keeps its laying down?

I suggest not worrying about that. Leave her hair natural, or cornrow it. I think when she is older and concerned about her hair, then do something about it, like pressing it. She probably has a more coarse texture than yours and you're not used to it. It's better to keep it braided and let it grow out and be healthy than abusing it. It's possible for Black hair to be beautiful healthy and nappy and NOT "lay down."

If your child's hair is laying down, don't worry about it.You really shouldn't be using all those hair products on her hair at that young age.It could fall completely off if Just keep her hair greased and wait until she turns 5yrs.old to start relaxing\perming her hair.

She's three and a half for goodness sake! Are you trying to turn her into a neurotic adolescent before her time? Let her be a child, play, get messy, and not worry what she looks like. At her age her beauty and charm are completely apparent, don't make her into a teenager before she's even started school. What pressure!
