I'm not very sure, it all depends, on is the person gay? is the person straight? will it effect the friendship if they don't feel the same, but the bottom line is, if this is tearing you up inside then tell them the truth, if they value your friendship and don't feel the same then i hope your friendship will survive, but then again this person might feel the same way, i wish you all the best, but i think a letter might not get the reply you want, be upfront and honest xx

If this is romantic love and you know that person isn't gay, then keep it to yourself. If it's friendly love, just say it. If you know the person is gay or bisexual, and it's romantic love, then you have to weigh your options. If you tell this person will you lose a friendship? If it's worth the risk to you, I'd say just go for it in person. Good luck.

well I am hoping that this person is part of the family or else you should not be telling someone, romantically, of the same sex that you love them. Sorry I just dissagree with that. But happy hearts day!

Many times is not what you say, rather how you act that will be sufficient. If this does not help, use a hammer or tell a commun friend about your feelings.

First find out what their sexual orientation is - whether they're gay or straight, then I would drop hints that you're gay and see how they react. If they react positively then tell then you like them. Take it slow, and always make sure you're happy with the situation.

I'm guessing this is either your brother, father or friend... just tell them "Hey man, you know I love you right and I'll always be there for you... Always remember that Love you man."

just kind of see how this person acts around you and see if they show interest in you as well..and if you think they do then just tell them that you think you might like/love them..and just see what happens..you have to take chances/risks sometimes...

I guess it depends on if you think they are gay or not. If they aren't, you could make a good friendship turn uncomfortable.
