Ok I am going to buy a motorcycle maybe this week from someone localy. I know I need to get a tag and title but what else do I need to do.

Never bought a car/cycle on my own before sure wish my parents wrote it all down for me before I moved out.

Its 2007 V-star 650cc. I am already endorsed. He just wants to have me take over the loan with yamaha dealer no money to exchange. Do I get a tag from the dmv or tag office. What other types of things other then tag do I need to get taken care of?

You need the title, registration and insurance. Also make sure you have a permit or license for the motorcycle.

well get a recipet detailing what your buying and any sitpulations
that you guys have agreed apon like if it breaks ina week you can bring it back or somthing like that when ever buying somthing get everything in writing it's your only recourse should somthing go wrong also tags title should be all you need besides the license
and helmet so yea that really all there is to it have fun be safe and cheers!

In California, Insurance, a helmet, and a valid motorcycle driver's llicense.
