First off, take your puppy in to have a exam. Poop eating is a common occurance. called Coprophagia, In some cases it can be as simple as a vitamin defecency. Other cases it could be that his baterial flora in his gut is off and he is balancing it by re-ingesting his poop. Is he eating his own poop or other dogs and cats? It the case he is eating other animals poo it boils down to.... IT TASTES GOOD. plain and simple. Dogs are animals and in the wild they eat poop. Good for digestion and added nutrients. If you dog was a wild wolf or feral his poop would be nothing but hair and bones cause his gut would become so effecient in digestion that he wouldnt poop out great steaming piles of feces. There for its not appetizing to other animals.. when we feed our dogs such rich diets full of fillers there poop becomes like a Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfait... YUMMY DELICIOUS... its a banquet. You can get products like others mentioned if its so gross to you. Otherwise just picking up the doo doo before it gets cold and throwing it away is your best answer. Just feed your dog with with lots of vities and minerals and he will eventually give up. Mine still enjoy a few "scooby snacks" outta the cat litter box and some "Rasinets" from the guinea pigs cages and rabbit left overs. TASTEY saves money on milkbones.

You could clean up the poo every time the dog goes or they sell pills you can give the dog at pet stores that are supposed to make them stop doing that.

When animals eat their feces it is called Coprophagy. No on e knows for sure why they do it they only have theories. You can sprinkle Cayenne Pepper or Bitter Apple on the feces, which the dogs will not want to eat it, you can prevent access to it by constantly cleaning it up or you can get 4-BID from the vet which is the same as MSG. You put this on their food and it will cause the feces to have an awful taste.

dogs eat poo because of a nutritional deficiency. make sure you use quality dog food,(no corn, wheat, or soy, these are just fillers). Also Solid Gold makes a dietary supplement called S.E.P.(Stop Eating Poop) that works really well. I would also reccomend thier brand of dog food, I feed Hound'n'flocken

you may want to attempt replacing the eating regimen to between the precise cost dried meals. those are processed more desirable easily by technique of the dogs’s body in the previous being handed and the consequent faeces are a lot less eye-catching. in a lot of situations including sterilised bonemeal to the eating regimen reduces the charm of a dogs’s faeces because they're drier and a lot less palatable. you ought to talk nutritional aspects of this delinquent behaviour such as your vet in additional desirable element. they is often in a position to exclude actual motives for the behaviour, and may want to prescribe some aspects to blend in the nutrition which will make the dogs’s personal faeces a lot less palatable.

Let him/her poo and when they are done "pick it up!" Throw it away. Cleaner for your family, yard, neighbors, and dog.

its their nature.. you might train her to stop when you are there (by jerking her on the leash, saying no, spanking her, spraying with a water bottle etc), but when you aren't around and she finds some: she will eat it. promise.

Why do you want them to stop? If they eat it you don't have to clean it up and you don't have to buy them dog food, it win win!
