Currently I am in school to be a police officer, recently me and my ex-girlfriend of 8 years just broke up.. it's all I can think about, however I am the one who ended it, just some trust/suspicion problems. I can't focus on my school work, or anything else. The fact that she might be with another guy is gettin to me too.

How do I NOT let this get in the way of my schoolwork, job, etc???

You have to empower yourself , brother. If you truly have the trust and suspicion issues you mentioned then the relationship would not work anyway. It just wasn't meant to be. If you really want to be a police officer I suggest you get your *** in gear and do all the things it takes to be the best officer you can be. Who cares if she is with another man? She was with one before she met you and she will certainly be with another one after you. Stay in your purpose. Pray that God has mercy on her for what she did to you. Wish her well and move on. You can do bad by yourself and besides who needs all the drama that comes with trying to love someone who doggs you out? Love her enough to let her go and get in a healthy relationship with a woman who loves you for you and respects the man you are, honeychild.

I had the same problem. Me and my bf of only 6 monthes broke up recently because of trust/suspicion issues. All I could think about was him. We had a baby together and it really was hard for me to leave him. But I gave all of my feelings to God. I just had to feel all of the sadness and hurt and even though its not fun to be sad it helps. I can now do my school work and live life without thinking of him constantly. Good luck and God bless. I am so sorry for the break up I know its hard and especially after 8 years. Ill be praying for you.

Definately cut off all ties with her and don't call her text her or Email her or try to see her face to face (This'll Only make things a little easier for you), Try and hang out with your friends and try hard to remain focused on your school work and try and get into different things and most of all try and talk to other females not neccesarily getting into another relationship just yet ( it takes time to get over something that serious) but just talk as friends and see where things go from there, that'll definately help you get over her and move on with your life as soon as you meet someone new.

A hard thing to do, taking control of your thoughts and emotions. Don't let your emotions determine your actions. Think logically through the pain and fill the empty worry with positive things. Not just work and school.

By telling yourself you are better off without her and you deserve better.
