Does he/she look like anyone famous? I always start there. Or maybe a family nickname? My Dads nickname was buddy when he was growing up. So when my sister got him a dog the name buddy seemed to fit perfect! My Dad loved that dog! My son who was eleven when we got his dog and really like Elvis Presley music so we named hime Elvis! The people that meet him always say "He looks like an Elvis type of dog!"

What does the dog look like? You can go by color? or the way they act. Like all jumpy, you can call 'em Skippy, or something like that. Make the name unique.
