I did a search and found 55 verses at a sight called "search for truth" Here's the site:
http://www.searchtruth.com/search.php?keyword=fight&chapter=&translator=2&search=1&start=&records_display=10&search_word=all

Sorry, they won't all fit here. The English translation says fight, but in Arabic it often says "yiktel" or "kill". Also, for those who would say it's just in defense, well it doesn't take much to offend Islam does it?

When mohamed went on his conquest of surrounding counties, he gave them the choice to become muslims or die. None of those countries were invading Saudi Arabia! How can Muslims say it's for defense?

In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful.
I am sorry to say that your question shows gross ignorance on
your understanding of the verses of the holy Quran and of Islam
in general.
Islam is derived from the Arabic word Salaam which means
peace and submission to the will of God Almighty. When a person submits himself to the will of God almighty then he is at
peace with himself, with society and with his lord.
The Holy Quran is the word of Allah the almighty revealed to
the Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings be on him] for
the the whole of humankind to be successful in this worid and
the heareafter. It is the only religious scripture that has stood the test of time and has remained in the original form for 1400 years
ago, needless to say that people have tried their best to find
some fault with it and have failed miserably all they go around
to console themselves with, are allegations that no human on
the face of this earth can prove.Unlike other scriptures like the
christian bible that does not exist in the original form has hundred
of mistakes, scientific errors, contradictions , unfulfilled prophecies, and so many revisions and changes that even no
two versions are the same and no theoligian worth his salt can
explain.
As you may have read the Quran with a biased eye only to try
and find fault with it, naturally this has clogged your Judgement.
Firstly there is no verse in the holy which Authorises Muslims
to Kill any other human being in cold blood.Though you have not
mentioned the particular verses That you have interepreted to mean other wise ,The back ground for these verses is a peace
treaty that was broken and as a final ultimatum Allah ordered
the Prophet to go to war with the infedels and in the battle to
kill the opponents where ever they were to be found. Now what
does a general tell his soldiers to do when in battle, of course
not to OFFER THE OTHER CHEEK< BUT TO KILL THE ENEMY . Islam orders Muslims to fight in self defense and not
to turn their backs to the enemy.Unfortunately you stopped reading The moment you thought you had something If you had
read the following verses where it is said that if the enemy wants
peace give him peace and treat the prisoners of war kindly and
escort them to a secure place wher they can move on to where
they came from.you also obiviously did not come across verses
where Muslims are told that if ther Killed a single human.without
a very just reason then it is as though you have killed the whole
of mankind and if you save the life of a single being it is as if you
have saved the whole of mankind.Ask your self who are the real
killers today invading muslim countries and Killing Millions of
innocent Muslims including women and children in the name
of terrorism with out any proof and making nations suffer trying
to hunt down one single man Please also try and find out who
the Crusaders were who murdered and massacered millions
of muslims in spain and other countries.
I hope that the next time you read the Quran ask God almighty
to guide you to the religion of truth.

The People of the Book had to pay a tax to live in muslim area for hundreds of years. I'm guessing that's what the Jizya is. It was usually a very mild tax. So long as the tax was paid and the jews and Christians didn't attempt to convert Muslims, they were to be left alone. Also, "may Allah destroy them" does not mean "let's kill them." Moreover, I think translation can be a huge issue here. Just googling gave me this translation: [9:30] The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of GOD," while the Christians said, "Jesus is the son of GOD!" These are blasphemies uttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surely deviated. (thus illustrating why Muslims prefer for the Koran to be read its the original Arabic!) This passage and further passages are illuminating where the Jews and Christians have gone wrong. Muslims believe that all three religions follow the same god, but that the Jewish and Christian scriptures and traditions have become corrupted....as opposed to everyone else who is just flat out wrong.

I am missing something here

this is all what I can see from the question
"muslims, how do you interpret the verses in the koran that tell you to kill the rest of us?"

is my browser gone bad or you forgot to post the verse?

Which verse would that be? If you are referring to the prophet defending himself and his followers in battle does not apply to me killing anyone. There is a verse however that states "to kill one person is like killing all of mankind".
Well "the rest of us" your all alive and kicking arnt you? So if what you say where to be true there would be plenty of deaths would there not? There isn't because there is nothing that telling us to kill anyone.

[2.190] And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.
[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.
[2.192] But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
[2.193] And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

This is taken from the second Sura of the Qur'an. Notice how it says "no hostility except against the oppressors," and "if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving." In a nutshell: only fight in self-defence and if an enemy wishes to have peace, then lay down your weapons and grant peace.
