I always feel like they're only trying to befriend me to convert me, so they can feel good for "saving" someone. Your opinions?

As for myself, I don't talk to people with only the intention of converting or saving them. If our talk should turn in that direction, my concern would not be for myself, but for the person I was talking with. Would I feel good? Well, yes. When someone is saved that ought to be a time of rejoicing, but I would rejoice with you and for you, not because of my part in the process. After all, my part will always be a small one.

Should you ever run across a slightly older (50ish) red headed lady from Kansas (sometimes I am blonde) who tells you she is an old hippie liberal grandma...and whose name is Peg...whatever she says to you is what she honestly wants to say...how is the weather, where are you from, can I help you find something...whatever...that is all it means...no ulterior motives. Watch it though, I have been know to give hugs free...but they are Peg hugs, not God hugs.

We as Christians can't take credit for saving anyone, only Jesus can do that. But, if you are a close friend, wouldn't you want your friends to experience the eternal life we are promised? Christians witness to you because they care about you, I know some Christians are in it for their own glory, but that never brings God honor.

LOL. I doubt that they just want to be your friend so they can convert you. I mean maybe some do. I know newer christians are usually eagered to spread the gospel because its new to them...

That seems rather strange to me. I rarely ask a person's religious affiliation when I talk to people. Maybe you are the one with the motive.

Well, you have to understand that Jesus is the only way to heaven, and if I don't tell people about him, they might never hear of it. If you hear about it and reject it, that's your choice, but I don't want someone going to hell because I didn't tell them about God. That is probably the truest and best answer you are going to get.

Not at all. At least not the christians I know. And if you do know people like that, then you're probably right, they probably don't do it for God and for you, they just do it so they can brag.
