I've been doing this for a month and a half. I've also been eating healthy and killing myself in the gym. I have lost body fat, although I haven't measured my bodyfat. I can see it, the mirror, and my clothes are getting to be too big. I am still around the same weight I was. I am 5'10 210lbs. I was 215lbs. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Should I cut out lifting? I just want lean muscle to have good tone. I am taking Bio Heat and Bio Burn for burning fat and Bio Pro for Whey Protein for recovery and keeping muscle. Idealy I would like to be around 180lbs. Please help.

muscle weighs more than fat. It's possible that you are getting more toned and building muscle. I would not rely on the scale but rather what you look like in the mirror. For more weight loss, you need to increase the cardio and decrease the weight lifting, but I would not cut it out entirely. In addition, watch what food you consume. Stick to veggies and lean protein..reduce the carbs...You should see results fairly quickly. Keep up the good work.

The scale is very misleading. I'm sure if you're 'killing' yourself at the gym, you're gaining a lot of muscle, which weighs more than fat. Lifting is definitely something you should continue to do, but maybe not so intensely. If you want to be leaner, I would say do 3/5 cardio and 2/5 weight lifting. Use a tape measure to watch your results rather than the scale. Keep up the good work, this is a normal result!

You may need to increase your incline and speed. Maybe you can mix things up and try using an elliptical machine (if it's accessible), it's a better workout than a bike or treadmill. You can get stuck in a lull if you don't change things up. If it's seeming a little to easy, punch it up a bit! Your diet is also a huge part of weight loss, make sure you're eating healthy (try 5-6 small meals a day) and drink tons of water!

One more thing... muscle weighs more than fat so if you are including strenght training (weights) into your workout you will be losing fat and building lean muscle mass.
Good Luck!

Wes,

You're doing good. Those protein powders are likely masking some of your weight loss, though. If you want to measure your body fat, there's a simple method that was developed by the military (see link below). By just measuring your neck & waist you can calculate your body fat %. Try doing this every 1-2 weeks.

If your goal is 180, try counting calories. You can easily figure out your metabolic rate, calories burned by exercise, and the calories that you eat. For every 3,500 calories you lose, you'll drop a pound of fat.

Keep up the good work. It can seem like it takes forever, but it'll be worth the effort!

it sounds like you are perfectly fine, see, you are losing fat, you can notice, and you are working out, and muscle weighs more than fat... so at the same time you are burning fat you are building new muscle, that's why you weigh the same..... it's important that you know that losing weight if not done correctly means losing also muscle... you don't want that.. burn the fat, but don't lose that muscle it's been so hard to gain. So, keep doing what you are doing, eat healthy... you'll get to the point where you won't burn more fat, but you will still ahve your muscle mass... see a nutritionist and a trainer, have them make the numbers for you.

You are doing great. You will tone and buff (muscle building) before you see pounds melting away. You stated that you can see how your appearance has changed and how your clothes fit differently. If you need proof in numbers start taking your measurements on a bi-weekly basis. The measurements are a more accurate synopsis of what you are accomplishing than a scale is.
congrats and keep up the good work!!!
