I am a 15 year old Jew. I am at the stage in life where I am questioning G-d. I mean, really, there is no proof he exists.

Anyways, I would just like to say to all of you people out there.
PEOPLE DON'T LIKE BEING PREACHED TO! THEY DON'T LIKE BEING TOLD THEY ARE GOING TO HELL UNLESS THEY BELIEVE IN YOUR G-D!

Do you really think that I am going to convert? Even if I was looking for a new religion, I'm not going to pick one with people who are as crazy as you. You telling me I'm going to hell does not make me want to join you and be associated with you and your religion.

Anyways, this isn't really a question. I just had to express my utter dislike for people who try to convert me. I just hope that those of you who do this to people you know will realize how annoying it is.

Maybe it's just where I live. Yeah, I live in the South.

So, thank you for reading this. Maybe it made you realize something.

Funny thing is no-one can convert you. It is silly isn't it. Do your thing girl and it will all work out. If you pray- then do so. Its really between you and God. You really don't need any religion to love God. The rest comes in time- either way.
I don't think people mean to do wrong by forcing it on anyone. At least I hope not. I am sure it is with good intention. Sorry for your experience.
I'll tell ya something I am christian and I still get a little frustrated at those pushy people trying to hand me pamphlets. It kind of offends me. Not the pamphlets but the attitudes of those handing them out. So although I don't totally understand- I can see a tiny glimpse of where you are coming from.
Good luck!

Since no one else has done it yet, I apologise for the ignorance and lack of respect that some people of my faith have. While evangelism is a strong part of being a Christian, some people just don't have the tact or the sense to know when to back off. Some are also too ignorant of their own faith to know that, even in Christianity, the Jews are God's chosen people, and should be looked upon with a special respect.

Sounds more like a rant than a question....

This country was started by a bunch of religious refuges. It's always been pretty heavily Christian. So you'll never get away from it, especially in the South. So you'd best learn to ignore it. I was raised Presbyterian in South Carolina. Now I've pretty much recused myself from any kind of organized religion. Whenever it comes up, I simply don't talk about it. If someone starts hassling me, I tell them it's my personal business and that I won't discuss it with them.

The nature of many Christians is to evangelize. Most of them mean well, although the more vocal of them don't mean well at all. Be polite to the former and ignore the latter. If you truly want to live a happy life, simply avoid the subject of spirituality whenever possible. There are a lot of worthwhile people who are deeply religious, and a lot who are atheist. Don't let spirituality become part of your public personae or part of how people evaluate you. Simply refuse to discuss it. If they won't accept that, then move on.

boy that was rambling... sorry

Torah is clear that only YHVH can bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing, and that we are all unclean. Don't you want to be clean? There is no Temple, and those ceremonial washings were only in type anyway. Life only is offered through the Savior YAHOSHUA! You are welcome to join Him. He has already paid the price, so there is no extra charge. In the end, all sin will be burned up when He cleans this world with fire, and so unless you let Him carry yours, then it will take you into the fire. It isn't vindictive, its just physics. Churchianity is a pagan (heathen) religion, but the Almighty still wants to save.

On http://www.israelsdestiny.com , there is an article regarding evangelical Christianity. I don't agree with converting a follower of Judaism to another religion. All the answers you need are in your own religion--it is a complete way of life, civilization, culture and philosophy. If you wanted to convert, you would. Giving up a religion you are raised with is complicated, and you are too young to know, anyway.

Kali, I like you. You're smart - for 15 - for any age, actually. And I'm absolutely positive you're going to have a great life. Without religion, if that's what you decide. Truth is, all religious texts were written by man. And I underline man. Wonder what the world would've been like if women were allowed to do the thinking back then...

I agree that receiving answers to questions you have not asked can be quite annoying. Do you ever ask these people why the subject came up?

I live in the South as well but I have not observed this proselytizing behavior anywhere. Yes you are jewish by nationality as you say. Where do most of these encounters occur? Where would I look to find this hotbed of conversion experts? What do they look like?

I do see the Jehovah's Witness people and the Mormons traveling about in distinctive garb on their mission, but I have yet to experience this offensive form of witness.

its always the way honey...people do try to convert you to their way of thinking. religion has caused more trouble in this world than anything else...so you believe what you want to believe in...i promise you..if there is a hell - you wont go there because of your beliefs!!

you are right - there is no proof that god exists...because if he did...why doesnt he come to help the troubles of the world? i know most people wont like my answer..but i can not stand being preached to either ...i have my own mind...and i think that you do too!!

I agree, people attempting to constantly convert you can get very annoying. I suggest you tell them (calmly, not angrily : P) that you're really not looking to convert to anything and that you need to find your OWN way.. WITHOUT them. If they dont get the hint from their just let them know that you enjoy their company but if they're gunna keep trying to convince you to convert that you're not gunna be around them anymore. Hopefully that helps a little. Good luck and stay cool.

Sounds like your "question" is more of a statement than a questions. People that try to convert you do so because they believe that it is the right thing to do. They care about you/humanity and want you to do what is right as well. Instead of getting angry about it, why don't you just be nice to them and tell them that you're not interested???
