Alright. I am a christian. I just became serious with Christ a few months ago. I have this habit of looking at pretty girls. I mean i just look to see how fine they are or whatever, sometimes i also look at thier "butts" to see if they are packing or whatever. lol. the thing is when i look at thier "butts" i do not think about sex or anything even if they have "as$". Well i guess my question is, is it a sin to look at a girl's "as$" even if you do not think about sex? Is it lust?

Lust is what occurs when you go beyond thinking how lovely someone is. Lust is when you have mentally undressed them or in your heart have sex with them.

Some use this axiom: The first look isn't lust....the second one is..."

James says it this way: "Instead, each person is tempted by his own desire, being lured and trapped by it. When that desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin; when that sin grows up, it gives birth to death." (James 1:14-15)

Listen up. You've admitted something that many who proclaim to be a Christians have not. Just because you give you life to Christ does not in any way change the desires of your flesh. It's a process of following the desires of your spirit rather than your flesh. (Rom 12:1-2) You wake up every morning with it. To answer your question "Looking" is not a sin. Here is a test that I always go by and it's pretty simple. If you look once you are admiring if you look again you might be given over to lust. Trust me God knew what he was doing when he created the opposite sex. But he does have guidelines for the Christian to live by. Check out 1 Cor 10:13. It states that there is no temptation that you struggle with that is not "COMMON" to man. That means AIRBODY has gone through or felt a similar struggle in another area. But read the rest of the verse and walk in God's grace. Be Blessed Bro.

No, looking is not lust. But you should still not be looking becasue lust can come at that same moment. Lust is when you have the strong desire to have what you see, so if you're not looking at the females or whatever, you're less likely to lust. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, especially since you're new to the faith. God bless you.

Even if you are not thinking about sex, you are still doing it to "check them out." We all sin all the time. Sometimes we do it without knowledge of it. I don't think it's lust, unless you go crazy and get uncontrollable feelings that you can't seem to satiate. You are just getting used to your new life in Christ. Ask him to help you with this temptation and whenever you catch yourself doing it again ask Him to take those thoughts and feelings from you.

In and of itself it is not lust, however, it has still a few problems. First, it is not seen that way by those who might see you looking, and can be a detriment to your witness. Secondly, it can be a gateway to lust later on. The best way to keep from sinning is to keep from things that might tempt you. The devil is a crafty being, and will use any foothold he can get.

Jesus says, "If you look at another women in lust it is adultery"

I guess the question would be, what do you think when you look at girls. If you arent thinking about sex what are you thinking about.

Your Train of thought was probably (if all the way thought out):she is hott, she has a hott a**, I want to be with her, I want to have sex with her.

Have you ever thought it all the way out. Why do you look at girls? I think if you think it all the way out you will see your true intentions and then know.

Also if you feel it is wrong, it probably is. And on behalf of women, stop staring at our A**es, we dont like it. Or most of us anyway, and the ones who do, you probably shouldnt be hanging out with if you want to be a "good Christian"

soji,, dont worry you only gave your life to God a couple months ago, and you cant totally change you habits. Altho you can work on the bad ones :). And remember the Lord knows that not one of us are perfect here on earth and he still forgives us. Always remember that if you were the only person on earth Jesus would have still died just to save you, because he loves you that much. be good to yourself and dont worry you have already made a amazing start of good in your life by accepting Jesus Christ into your life. :)

Oh, give yourself a break. Being Christian does not mean you are not human. Are you married? It is a sin to look and "covet" if married. If you are just looking, to look....heavens, I think God would understand. Live a good, honest, kind and charitable life. Don't hurt anyone, don't lie or steal or murder....and I think God will let you into heaven when you die! As Christian's, I think too many people try to shut themselves off from making mistakes...that's why God gave us free will. He is also a forgiving God, if we repent our sins (or what we think are our sins). I am Christian...I make many mistakes...I try to do my best AND I KNOW God still loves me.

I think if you are questioning if this is lust, then it probably is. You are a "baby" christian and have a long ways to go (nothing wrong with that!!). If you remember this and nothing else you will be OK: We, as Christians, are to do EVERYTHING to glorify God. Checking out women's rears isn't really glorifying God, so I would probably try to focus more on women's hearts rather than their derriere.
