Last question for now, thanks again to everyone for their help! I would like to know where the safer and quieter areas in Vegas are to live, but still close to the action of the Strip.

Most of the responses to other people's similar questions say "define safe". Well for me, it would be knowing that my apartment isn't going to be broken into and my car isn't in major danger of being vandalized. Besides that, I can handle myself quite well, and am just looking at an area for young twentysomethings!

Thanks again!

The NW area above Summerlin is very nice. There's a new hospital and mega mall being build here. My husband and I moved here about 4 month ago and we love it. It's just like any other neighborhoods here, Supermarket, restaurant, strip mall, movie, bookstore, etc ... And when we want to go put for a night, we just drive down to the Strip for a dinner or show or even just to walk around. Summerlin is nice too, a little pricier that my area. Henderson is much more experience, it's also located at the SE of town. Housing will cost more there but you can be closer to work as a lot of companies are located near the airport and downtown area. But all the new developing neighborhoods are also very nice area. Good luck!

Northwest is pretty new, safe & you have many conveniences, say if you DON'T want to go down to the strip some weekend cause you're tired of it ... there's plenty to do in the NW & Summerlin. And yet, it's only about 15-20 min away from the strip.

Its all a cesspool. But I would say any newer suburb areas would be the safest. Something about that hot dry air makes people mean.

I think the whole thing is dangerous! Gees they even make t.v shows about crime there! I would not even want to vacation there...
