It's just a polite metaphor which probably began in more puritanical times when saying the word "sex" (or something even more vulgar) wasn't acceptable in polite conversation.

Yes, usually when the term is used there is little or no sleeping involved. Easiest way around it just call both situations what they are cheating.

yes it is considered as sleeping together even if you just had sex together in the same bed galwild butterflys i just hope you used protection as a condom because of all the diseases that are out there
