This is what I do: Before I go to bed, I put a really thick lotion such as an udder balm on my hands. Don't be shy with the product, cake it on. Then I put a pair of surgical gloves over my hands and I go to bed with them on all night. You can buy a whole box of the gloves from a tattoo supply store or a medical supply store and even your local pharmacy. By keeping the gloves on all night, your hands retain all the moisture from the lotion. When you remove the gloves in the morning, wash your hands or take a shower. After you dry off from either washing your hands or taking the shower, your hands will be much softer and smoother. Continue to do this for as long as your hands stay dry, or about a week. You will be amazed with the results. Give it a try! Good luck!

So do mine, and I rarely go outside. Try Suave Intensive Moisturizer for Severly Dry Skin. Make sure your hands are moist with water, and then apply, this way the lotion can get into your skin and seal in the water. Even if you apply it to dry hands it works, but the effect will be much better if they're damp. So far it's been helping me and my hands get so cracked that they bleed.

You should invest in a pair of cotton gloves you can find them at Kohl's in the beauty section. Then before you go to bed you should slather on your favorite hand lotion/cream and put the gloves on and sleep with them on all night. The warmth from the gloves will help the lotion/cream penetrate your dry cracked skin and your hands will feel and look noticeabley smoother in the morning. Do this every day or every other day as you feel necessary.

Alot of the time when you hands get dry it is because you wash then too much, but you don't notice it in the summer because it is hot outside and your hands sweat which creates moisture. Try to get a hand sanitizer that is a lotion (bath and body works), so you don't have to wash your hands as much! Hope that helps!!

Mine do too and it is an endless battle so lately I put on a really good and rich hand cream and put white cotton gloves on or clean white socks on my hands and go to sleep. This helps them feel better and the gloves will hold in the heat and make the hand cream work..You might try some Intensive care or some extreme weather cream.

Your house might be too dry. If you're also getting dry mouth at night, try a humidifier. It will help with the dry skin and dry mouth. Also, apply aloe vera gel before going to bed and 2-3 times during the day, preferrably after you've washed your hands.

Buy Vaseline (the gelly kind) and make sure it is all over your hands (use plenty of it). Take two white socks and put them over your hands right before you go to bed. Give it a week for them to be moisturized fully.

I have been having the same problem because I bartend and my hands stay wet and cold, so to sooth the hurt I use generic triple antibiotic cream, and then once they have healed enough for a moisterizer, use one without any harmful ingredients, I like Cetephil, and use a lot right before bed, with lotion gloves, that you sleep in. It workes for me.
