I would give it a 9...It is really expensive..I would try looking at Sallys Beauty Supply, they always have good flat irons at good prices!

Personally I have curly hair, when i want to straighten mine i use a ceramic flat iron called a "CHI" and before i do i use a hot iron protectent spray that is also by chi on each section of my hair right before i do, my hair does not seem damaged at all & i think this product helps. You can find a chi at this sore called "ULTA" or see if your hair dresser carries it or can order it. Mine cost me $100.00 and came with the protector & a finishing gloss.

Chi is the BEST flat iron. It takes care of any hair texture, including afro texture. Amazon, as well as overstock is selling it at $80-90 dollars. Get one and be instantly amazed. I went from doing my hair from 2 hours to 20 minutes, with professional quality. Do yourself this favor. It's a God-send.

CHIIIIII. & ion. you shouldn't straighten your hair so much. blowdrying it out to make it straight would still be good. you're damaging your hair right now. you're burning your hair b/c you're using a flat iron too much. everyday i a lot. Soon your hair will thin out even more & it'll look dead. but chi's are good

That looks ok. I have a Chi and I love it. Also, don't get a big plated flat iron, they are hard to control and you can't get close to your scalp with it.

That iron would probably be fine, but you can go to a local salon and get a really good salon quallity one for about $100. I've had mine for a few years, and it hasn't damaged my hair, and it makes it look very sooth and sleek.
