I'm hypothyroid. I hardly have any hypo symptoms at all since going on Armour thyroid 3 years ago. When I was on Levoxyl, I had almost evey symptom. It lowered my TSH, but did nothing for thr symptoms. What helped me was reading all I could about hypothyroidism on the internet. It made me look for better care for myself once I knew there were other options.

As far as weight loss...diet and exercise, but first you must get your morning TSH around 1.0 if you are on T4 (Synthoid, Levoxyl). For if you don;t, you will not lose weight with diet and exercise. If you are on Armour, you need to get the free t4 midrange or higher and the free t3 high in range.

Below is a good thyroid website

I take synthroid for an underactive thyroid; go to the doctors and get a blood test done. They will be able to determine your thyroid level and what dose of medicine to put you on.

Remember to never miss a dose of your thyroid medicine and take it on an empty stomach.

It will help...

You should be treated for your underactive thyroid. You may need a synthetic form of thyroid hormone. See your physician.

Yes, I do, and I don't have any trouble now that I take medication for it. You really should see your doctor, have some blood work and get on the proper dosage of medication. It works wonderfully and should help you feel better. Once your dose is adjusted you will have the energy you need to help you become more active, and hopefully lose weight.
